Eight Medals Presented to Department of Corrections Employees
(Concord, N.H.) New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn awarded medals for exceptional conduct and professionalism to eight staff on September 10, 2013. The staff were recognized for their roles in resolving serious and potentially life threatening incidents over the last year.
The following DOC employees were recognized with medals and citation bars at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men in Concord.
Six staff were recognized for preventing an attempted inmate suicide on May 8, 2013.

Corrections Corporal Mark Castellano - Team Commendation Citation Bar
Corrections Officer Nicholas Heacock - Team Commendation Citation
Corrections Counselor/Case Manager Carl Matson - Life Saving Medal
Unit Manager Robert McGrath - Life Saving Medal
Corrections Sergeant Sheryl St. Peter - Team Commendation Citation Bar
Registered Nurse Brad Bowden - Team Commendation Citation Bar
Captain Santo Fiorillo was presented with the Life Saving medal for a March 28, 2013 incident when he applied abdominal thrusts to an inmate who was choking in a dining hall.
Corrections Corporal Gary Lydick was presented with the Department’s Life Saving medal for his role in preventing an attempted inmate suicide on June 7, 2012 in the Reception and Diagnostic Unit.
In the weeks ahead Commissioner Wrenn will be recognizing additional staff at other facilities with similar bars and citations.
