Minimum Security Inmate Walks Away From Manchester Facility
(Manchester, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections reports that on September 4, 2008, a minimum security inmate housed at the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester signed out of the unit at 10:20 a.m. to search for employment and failed to return at the scheduled time. The inmate, David Garcia, 34, of Manchester, New Hampshire was placed on walkaway status at approximately 2:00 PM.
Inmate Garcia is a black male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160 pounds, bald haircut, and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his upper right and left arms, his left cheek, and his neck. He is serving three concurrent 2 ½ - 10 year sentences from Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua for the Sale, Possession, and Manufacturing of Drugs. He entered prison on August 25, 2006. His parole eligibility date was June 14, 2008. His sentence ends December 15, 2015.
Security procedures aimed at apprehension have been initiated. The New Hampshire State Police and NH DOC are investigating. Anyone with information about this individual should call local law enforcement authorities.
