Department to Contract With New Mental Health Provider
(Concord, NH) The Governor and Executive Council authorized the New Hampshire Department of Corrections to enter into a four-year agreement with MHM Correctional Services Inc., of Vienna, Virginia, for the purposes of providing residential treatment unit and outpatient psychiatric services for Department inmates and inpatient services for state inmates and non-adjudicated residents of the Secure Psychiatric Unit.
Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn recommended MHM to the Governor and Council for its positive track record of specializing in mental health services and its reputation for consistent performance, excellent health care to inmates, and strong program development.
MHM provides similar services to other state and county Correctional organizations across the country. MHM has a history of implementing best-practice programs and providing Corrections-specific services such as Sexual Offender Treatment.
“MHM has an excellent record of providing mental health services, a good start-up plan, and has been very responsive to all issues and requests. They have a proven track record of providing reports, recommendations, treatment protocols, sustaining court compliances, progressive and pro-active quality improvement and compliance activities,” Commissioner Wrenn said.
The $15.2 million dollar contract also includes the option for a two-year renewal.
