2008 Artists' Workshops

January 15, 2008
Creating Digital Portfolios, Snow Date: January 16th

Many galleries, museums, and juried competitions are finally accepting CD portfolio submissions; in fact, many of them and funders, including the State Arts Council, will soon only be accepting digital images. This workshop is for artists who are ready to take the leap and create digital image files from existing slides or digital camera pictures. Artists do not need to bring anything to this session, but should feel free to bring their cameras if they have after-class questions about specific settings, etc. This session will be led by artist Barbara Rita Jenny, a recipient of Fellowships from the State Arts Council and Greater Piscataqua Community Foundation.

The Business of Being an Artist
Go beyond the abstract and set up a concrete path to success. Strategic planning helps you think logically about where you are going and what you need to accomplish. In this session, a new method of goal setting will be introduced to get you motivated and organized. Participants will leave with a specific action plan and feedback from peer exchange exercises. This workshop will be led by Jennifer Murphy Aubin, South East Regional Manager of MicroCredit-NH.
