Honorable Mention: Michael Brosnan, Poet, Exeter
Michael Brosnan is a writer, editor and educator. Brosnan’s poems and short stories have been published in numerous journals, including New Letters, Barrow Street, Potomac Review, and Prairie Schooner. Among his awards are a PEN Syndicated Fiction Award and an honorable mention from Backwaters Press Prize.
Brosnan has served as editor for Down East magazine; director of publications for the National Association of Independent Schools; and taught at several institutions, including the University of New Hampshire, Phillips Exeter Academy, Queens College, C.W. Post College, and Hebron Academy. He currently edits Independent School magazine. Brosnan holds a bachelor’s degree in English and education from Boston College and a master’s in English from UNH.
In his artist statement Brosnan wrote: “I write with sensibilities that are uniquely mine – and try my best to trust them.”
