Painting Canobie
“This is a picture of a person painting four rides at Canobie Lake Park. The four rides are the Turkish Twist, Starblaster, a roller coaster, and the ski lift that looks over the whole park. I picked those because they stand out in my mind when I leave Canobie Lake Park.”

Bow Elementary School, Bow

Faces of New Hampshire Art
“My painting was inspired by Gustav Klimt, an artist I learned about at school, who used metallics and rectangles. It portrays my experiences of NH arts: ballet at Danse Papillon (ballerina/butterfly), acting with the Palace Youth Theatre (masks/marquee), art lessons at the Currier (Jan Gossaert), and drawing everywhere (young artist)!”
psoter entry
Hannah Lemieux
Grade 3
Broken Ground School, Concord

Dancing Ballerina
“This drawing is about myself as a ballerina. I picked this subject because I like ballet and I enjoyed taking ballet lessons at a dance studio in Concord. I loved performing on stage for my dad and getting my picture taken. But, my most favorite art form is drawing so that is why I made myself drawing the ballerina self-portrait. When I grow up, I’d like to be an artist!”
psoter entry
Jessica Carroll
Grade 4
Broken Ground School, Concord

Under the Spot Light
“The curtain opens, people cheering, lights burning a blanket of flowers fill the stage. Twirling, twisting, swirling, soaring, yes as you can see I’m at the Capitol Center of the Arts in Concord for my dance routine. I chose to draw a picture of a ballerina in the Capitol Center of the Arts because I dance there too and that is one of my favorite arts.”
psoter entry Amanda Schoenfeld
Grade 4
Broken Ground School, Concord

Dakota
“My drawing represents my favorite things to do in New Hampshire which are riding and drawing horses. There is nothing better to do on a beautiful day than to go riding on your favorite horse at one of New Hampshire’s many farms and stables.”

Folk Dancing
“In this scene Dudley Laufman, a famous New Hampshire fiddler, is holding a contra dancing party for friends and neighbors in Canterbury, New Hampshire. I chose this subject because I have fond memories of Mr. Laufman teaching me folk dancing in second grade. He was an Artist-in-Residence at my school.”
psoter entry Hope Morrison

Conant Elementary School, Concord

“My picture shows me looking at the Starry Night picture by Van Gogh. Starry Night is one of my favorite pictures and Van Gogh is my favorite artist. I painted this painting because museums inspire me.”
psoter entry Kayla Reilly

“The picture I painted is of a girl looking at a painting of a flower. When I started I was thinking of my favorite artist Georgia O’Keeffe. She paints many pictures of flowers.”
poster entry Molly Zollo-Venecek
Grade 3
Conant Elementary School, Concord

untitled
“My picture shows a girl singing at the Capitol Center for the Arts. There are wonderful performances there and it has a lot of different genres like comedy, plays, dances, singing and musicals. My picture shows what happens there and the audience enjoying the performance.”
psoter entry Emily Thunberg
Grade 1
Eastman Elementary School, Concord

Ballerina
“This is a picture of me dancing in my recital at the Capitol Center for the Arts. I dance at the Concord Dance Academy. Many other children dance there too. I love dancing to music. It feels good to move with the music. Some of the older dancers even tell a story with their dance. We wear many costumes too. I like dancing and making people smile.”
poster entry Sarah Thunberg
Grade 2
Eastman Elementary School, Concord

White’s Park
“My poster is about White’s Park. White’s Park is a wonderful place to go for a picnic. We play on the playground or go see the ducks on the pond. In the winter we go skating on the pond or sledding on the hill. White’s Park is a beautiful place for people to enjoy. It was made many years ago by a person called a landscape architect. White’s Park is a historic place. I love White’s Park.”
poster entry Ethan Call
Grade 3
Jefferson Elementary School

My Favorite Place to See Art
“My favorite place to see art was in Franconia Notch; it was the Old Man of the Mountain. The Old Man of the Mountain was special because it was made by nature. Now the only way to see the Old Man is through art.”
poster entry John Ennis
Grade 3
Jefferson Elementary School, Jefferson

Favorite Place to See Art
"I like to go to this place to see art because I like to imagine stories in the clouds. When I’m imagining, I see animals, fairy tale creatures, and some people. A lot of times, when the sun is out, my sister comes out with me. We have a contest to see who can see the most animals in the sky. This is why I go outside to imagine art, it is really fun!”
poster entry Ryan Marvin
Grade 3
Jefferson Elementary School, Jefferson

Refrigerator Art
“My picture is a refrigerator with my artwork on it. I picked my refrigerator because it has as much of my artwork on it as we can fit. Most houses I go to, I see artwork displayed on their refrigerator. Everybody can see and enjoy your artwork on the refrigerator.”
poster entry Georgiana Miller
