CONCORD – Governor-Elect Maggie Hassan today announced the final members of her administration's staff, including her budget director, director of citizens services, and other key positions.
To support her efforts to develop a fiscally responsible balanced budget, Hassan has named Gerard Murphy of Concord as Budget Director. Since 2009, Murphy has served as a budget officer for the New Hampshire State Legislature in the Legislative Budget Assistant's Office. Murphy has previously held budgeting roles at the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
"A fiscally responsible balanced budget is the cornerstone of a strong economy," said Governor-Elect Hassan. "Gerard Murphy's years of experience and knowledge of our budgeting process will be invaluable as we work to develop a balanced budget, without a sales or income tax, that protects our priorities while living within our means."
Hassan also announced today that Robert Ditman of Franklin will serve as Citizens Services Director. Ditman currently serves as Deputy Director of Citizens Services under Governor Lynch and has served in various roles in the governor's office since 2009.
Additional staff members announced today include Samuel Inman as Director of Scheduling and Connor Jennings as Governor's Office Receptionist, both continuing in the positions they held under Governor Lynch; Emily Brown of Wilton as Director of Administration; Kyle Sutton as Assistant Director of Citizens Services; Molly Connors as Policy Adviser; Liani Balasuriya as Special Assistant for Citizens Services; Devan Quinn of Hampstead as Executive Assistant to the Governor; and Marissa Chase and William Hinkle as Staff Assistants.
As Governor, Maggie Hassan will bring people together to keep New Hampshire moving forward by focusing on innovation, fiscal responsibility and common-sense solutions to our challenges. Hassan will work with members of both parties to develop a fiscally responsible balanced budget that protects New Hampshire's priorities without an income or sales tax. She will work to implement her "Innovate NH" jobs plan, which focuses on building the best workforce in the country, providing tax credits to businesses, and giving businesses technical assistance to help them create jobs. And Hassan will reach out to legislators and citizens across the state to listen to their ideas on moving New Hampshire forward.
