When interviewing someone, it is always good to start with some personal history:

  • Where were you born?
  • Where did you grow up?
    • (If they did not grow up in New Hampshire)
      • What brought you to New Hampshire?

Then the interview can move on to asking about the person and the tradition:

  • How long have you been involved with the tradition?
  • What got you interested in it?
  • How did you learn it?
    • (If it is a craft)
      • What kinds of materials do you use and how do you get them?
    • (If it is a music or dance tradition)
      • What type of instrument do you play?
  • What do you think the future of this tradition will be?
  • Why is this tradition important to you?
  • What advice would you like to give young people about preserving this tradition and other traditions?
