Welcome to the Bureau of Right-of-Way!
As a result of transportation improvement projects it is at times necessary for the state to acquire private property to expand or improve the existing transportation system. The DOT Bureau of Right-of-Way is responsible for the acquisition of property rights required for transportation projects. The Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 govern the process the Department follows.
Stephen LaBonte, Administrator
