Keene-Swanzey Public Informational Meeting
NHDOT to Discuss Floodplain Mitigation Alternatives

Arrangements have been made by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation to hold a Keene-Swanzey Public Informational Meeting on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 6 pm via Zoom, to discuss the floodplain mitigation associated with the road improvements to Routes 9, 10, 12 and 101.

This project is tasked with finding a site for 19.9 ac-ft of compensatory floodplain mitigation for previous roadway construction impacts within the Ashuelot River watershed in Keene that is associated with improvements to Routes 9, 10, 12 and 101. This meeting will update the city and public on the alternatives evaluated for the project and present the preferred alternative site chosen by NHDOT in consultation with the Technical Advisory Group. The project is preparing an environmental document and plans, if approved, to advertise a construction project for that mitigation in 2022. At this time, the project will not impact any identified cultural resources or historic properties within or immediately adjacent to the project area.

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, the NHDOT will conduct the meeting virtually via Zoom. Presentation materials and the meeting link will be located on the NHDOT website:

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 6:00 pm.
