Hampton Beach Transportation Survey
Public feedback will Help Shape Improvements for the Beach Area

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), along with our consultant partners, HDR Engineering, Inc., and Fitzgerald and Halliday, Inc., are beginning data collection and public outreach efforts for a project that will improve the safety and mobility of all users for a select area of Ocean Boulevard in the Town of Hampton. This project builds upon the 2018 Transportation Update of the Town's Hampton Beach Area Master Plan as the team works to determine what and where the final improvements will be.

The initial study area includes a 3.3-mile section of NH Route 1A from the New Hampshire State Park entrance on the south to NH 27 (High Street) on the north and includes the major intersections with Hampton Beach State Park, Ashworth Avenue, NH 101 (Highland Avenue and Church Street), NH 101E (Winnacunnet Road), and NH 27 (High Street).

As part of this effort, NHDOT is asking for the public's help to assist the team in understanding the challenges and needs of the area. A survey and a mapping tool have been developed that allow respondents to provide detailed comments with regard to specific locations, needs, and suggestions for improvement along the corridor. Our goal is to reach a wide variety of users so that the perspective of all groups that live, work, and play in this area can be considered.

Please help us finds ways to meet the needs of all transportation users (drivers, bicyclists, pedestrians) in the corridor by visiting our interactive map and survey at These online tools will be available through the end of 2020.
