Bridge Work Beginning on NH Route 16 in Gorham, NH
Traffic will be Reduced to One Lane to Complete Work

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces that work on the bridge that carries NH Route 16 over the Peabody River in Gorham, NH will begin on August 5th. Work to be completed on this bridge, known locally as the "Third Hole" includes the replacement of the bridge joint, as well as a sealant deck preservation treatment. Traffic will be reduced to a one-lane, two-way alternating pattern controlled by temporary signals in order to complete this work. The available lane width for travel will be 13'-6".Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through construction zones.

Information about project-related lane width restrictions will be posted near the Mt. Washington Auto Road for northbound trucks and on NH Route 16 in the village area of Gorham, NH, south of the junction of US Route 2 and NH Route 16, for southbound trucks. This project is expected to be completed in October, 2020.
