Bearcamp River Bridge Replacement Begins March 23rd
Traffic Will Be Reduced To One Lane

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces that bridge replacement work will begin on the Bearcamp River Bridge on NH Route 16 in Ossipee, NH on Monday, March 23, 2020.

This work will require Route 16 at the Bearcamp River Bridge to be reduced to one lane of alternating two-way traffic. This will be accomplished using concrete barrier, temporary striping, and construction warning signs. Temporary traffic signals will be used at this location to control alternating two-way traffic flow. This configuration is necessary to continue foundation construction for the new replacement bridge.

We anticipate this phase of the project to be completed by late spring, 2020. This work is weather dependent and motorists should approach the area with caution and expect some delays.

This work is part of a project that consists of the replacement of three bridges (Lovell River, Bearcamp River, and Bearcamp Relief) and 3.5 miles of roadway reconstruction on NH Route 16.

Reed and Reed General Contractors of Woolwich, Maine is the contractor for the project, which has a final completion date of June 25, 2021.
