New Route 9 Bridge in Sullivan Opened for Traffic
Project Will Resume in Spring 2020

The State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the opening of the new Route 9 bridge in Sullivan, NH. Construction work will reconvene in Spring 2020 with approx. 3/4 mi. of NH Route 9 still requiring full roadway reconstruction. The rehabilitation of the Centre Street Bridge will also be done late winter/early spring before the final course of paving is placed over the entire project.

This roadway reconstruction project along Route 9 begins near the Granite Gorge Ski Area in Roxbury and continues easterly for approximately 2.1 miles to the Centre Street intersection in Sullivan. Road work includes tree removal on the steep ridgeline slopes and slope reduction to improve sight distances. The project will also include significant drainage and guardrail improvements. Bridge work entails replacing the existing NH Route 9 bridge over Otter Brook, and rehabilitating the Centre Street Bridge over Otter Brook.

R.S. Audley, Inc. of Bow, NH. is the prime contractor for the $13.5 million dollar project, which has a scheduled completion date of July 24, 2020.
