Night Closures of Sarah Mildred Long Bridge on September 16th, 17th, and 18th
Bridge Closing Nightly from 8:00pm to 6:00am for Inspection and Maintenance

The State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the planned closure of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge which spans the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine carrying traffic of the U.S. Route 1 Bypass. The bridge will be closed to traffic for ten hours nightly on September 16th, 17th, and 18th to allow for inspection and maintenance of the bridge.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to seek alternate routes during these time frames. Navigation on the Piscataqua River will not be affected by the bridge closure. The bridge will be open to marine traffic and will lift on an on-call basis during these hours.
