Honeymoon Covered Bridge in Jackson to Close for Repairs
Nine Week Closure for Wooden Deck Replacement Begins March 25th

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the planned closure of the Honeymoon Covered Bridge in Jackson to vehicle traffic for nine weeks to allow for extensive repair work, including the full replacement of the wooden bridge deck.

The Honeymoon Covered Bridge over the Ellis River will be closed to traffic from Monday, March 25th until May 23, 2019. Bridge closure and detour signs will be in place to alert and guide motorists.

In addition to replacing the bridge deck timbers, a NHDOT bridge maintenance crew will make repairs to areas on each end of the 143-year old bridge. The lights and electrical system on the bridge will also be upgraded.

The Honeymoon Bridge will remain open to pedestrian traffic, although periodic closures of the sidewalk will be necessary.
