Work Begins on I-293 Bridge Project in Bedford-Manchester
New Traffic Pattern on NH Route 3A (Brown Ave.)

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces that beginning Monday, November 5, 2018, a new lane configuration will be in effect for NH Route 3A (Brown Avenue) northbound at the intersection with the I-293 southbound ramps in Manchester.

This work is scheduled to be done between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on November 5th and will require the use of lane closures. A message board will be used to notify the travelling public of the new traffic pattern change. This lane configuration work is expected to take one day, however additional work days may be required due to weather conditions.

This project consists of bridge preservation work on the I-293 northbound and southbound bridges over the Merrimack River and PanAm Railroad in the Town of Bedford and the City of Manchester. It includes bridge deck repair, pier rehabilitation, replacement of expansion joints, CCTV foundation and pole, and a Smart Work Zone to inform the traveling public.

R.S. Audley Inc. of Bow, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $4.7 million project, which has a final completion date of October 18, 2019.
