Sidewalk and Facility Work at the Canterbury Rest Area on I-93
Temporary Closure of the Welcome Center from October 8th to 11th

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) and New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA) announce sidewalk and facility improvement work at the Canterbury Rest Area off of Interstate 93 northbound is planned for Monday, October 8 through Thursday, October 11, 2018. There will be no public access to the Canterbury Rest Area during this four day period.

This work is part of two projects. The NHDOT project consists of pavement rehabilitation, guardrail replacement, slope drainage replacement, pavement rehabilitation at the Canterbury Rest Area, and widening/reconfiguration of a portion of the I-93 Exit 23 northbound off-ramp. The BEA project is part of a statewide Welcome and Information Center improvements project.

Continental Paving, Inc., of Londonderry, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $5.1 million NHDOT project, which has a final completion date of October 19, 2018.

D.L. King & Associates, Inc. of Nashua, New Hampshire is the prime contractor for the BEA project, which has a final completion date of November 30, 2018.
