Work Planned On Saint-Gaudens Road In Cornish
Signed Detour To National Historic Site Off NH Route 12A

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces road improvement work is scheduled to begin May 4, 2018 on Saint-Gaudens Road in Cornish. This project will reconstruct approximately 3,700 feet of Saint-Gaudens Road from NH Route 12A to the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site Visitors Center in Cornish, NH.

During construction operations, Saint-Gaudens Road will need to be closed to through traffic for several weeks on weekdays from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. To get to the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site Visitors Center, a signed detour will be in place redirecting motorists south on NH Route 12A to Town House Road to Dingleton Hill Road to the national park entrance and parking area back entrance of the Visitors Center. Those seeking to visit Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site should plan for an additional 15 minutes to arrive.

The road reconstruction project is expected to be completed by late June 2018. The prime contractor for the project is L&M Service Contractors, of Orford, New Hampshire. The total contract cost is $517,000, primarily funded through the Federal Lands Access Program.
