Road Work Resumes on NH Route 106 In Belmont-Laconia
Project Includes Rehabilitation of Three Bridges

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces work is resuming on the rehabilitation of NH Route 106 in Belmont and Laconia, and a section of the Laconia Bypass.

Initial work will focus on the rehabilitation of two bridges, the NH 106 bridge over the Laconia Bypass and Laconia Bypass bridge over NH Route 107.

Two-way traffic will be maintained by using lane shifts. Motorists will encounter travel lanes shifted with realigned striping, temporary concrete barrier, and traffic control barrels or cones. Message boards, flaggers, and uniformed officers will also be used periodically to assist motorists through the work areas.

Due to the required shifting of lanes on the Laconia Bypass, the on-ramp traffic will now encounter a stop sign at the end of the ramp. This will provide ramp traffic the opportunity to more safely enter the Laconia Bypass within the shifted lane configuration.

This project includes pavement rehabilitation on five miles of NH Route 106 in Belmont and Laconia, as well as 8/10's of a mile on the Laconia Bypass, and the rehabilitation of three bridges.

Busby Construction, of Atkinson, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $7.2 million project, which has a final completion date of October 27, 2017.
