Spaulding Turnpike Northbound Ramp Relocation in Dover
Exit 6N will be a Two Lane Exit to US Route 4

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the upcoming relocation of Exit 6N on the Spaulding Turnpike northbound in Dover.

On Thursday, December 15, 2016 the existing Exit 6N northbound off-ramp on the Spaulding Turnpike will be closed to allow for the construction of new bridge and highway components at the existing ramp location. Motorists who normally use Exit 6N will be directed 1,500 ft. north to the newly constructed Exit 6 (formerly Exit 6W). The new Exit 6 northbound off-ramp will now be a two lane exit that will serve motorists travelling west toward Durham, and east toward Dover.

Motorists on the new Exit 6 northbound off-ramp who wish to travel east toward Dover will need to keep left on the ramp to a newly constructed traffic signal at the intersection with US Route 4 and Dover Point Road. Motorists who wish to travel west toward Durham will need to keep right on the ramp and will merge onto Route 4 westbound on the same path as before the ramp modification.

New signage and message boards will be installed to help direct motorists to their destinations.

Severino Trucking Company is the general contractor for the $67 Million project, which is scheduled to be completed in October of 2020. The project involves the widening of the Spaulding Turnpike from the Woodbury Avenue interchange 3.2 miles north to a point 3,000 feet past the Dover Toll Plaza. It will create eight lanes between Exit 3 and Exit 6 on the Spaulding Turnpike, and will provide the final roadway match to the new Little Bay Bridges.
