Conway Public Officials/Informational Meeting
NH Route 16 Bridge Over the Saco River

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces a combined Public Officials/Informational Meeting will be held in Conway on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 to discuss proposed bridge preservation/rehabilitation work on the NH Route 16 Bridge over the Saco River.

This project includes bridge deck repairs, replacement of expansion joints, bridge shoe replacement, abutment repairs, and painting. One-way, southbound traffic with northbound traffic detoured via NH Route 113 and US Route 302 is currently anticipated during the work period.

The July 12 public meeting is scheduled for 4:00 pm as part of the Conway Selectmen's meeting at 1634 East Main Street in Center Conway, New Hampshire.

The purpose of this meeting is to present citizen citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project and to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination. In addition, to ensure that this project complies with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the Department has identified and assessed the project's potential impacts to historic properties. The Federal Highway Administration has determined, and the NH Department of Historical Resources has concurred, that the project will not affect historical or archaeological resources. However, if you have any concerns with historic properties or archaeological resources in the project area, please bring these concerns to the public meeting, or notify the Department.
