US Route 4 Bridge Reconstruction Project in Canaan
Alternating One-Way Traffic Over Mascoma River

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces a planned lane width change at the US Route 4 bridge project over the Mascoma River in Canaan.

Alternating one-way traffic controlled by temporary signals, which has been in place since April 2016, will remain in effect until mid-September 2016. Effective Friday, July 8, the lane width will be reduced from 12 feet to 11 feet 9 inches wide.

The project consists of a complete concrete deck replacement of the US 4 bridge, as well as additional repairs to the concrete abutments. Miller Construction of Windsor, Vermont is the contractor for the $1.0 million project, which has a final completion date of October 26, 2016.
