Amtrak Exhibit Train To Visit Claremont Station On June 18
Learn about Amtrak's history, operations and future

Visitors can get an up-close tour of an operating train, as well as view displays of artifacts, memorabilia and interactive exhibits when the Amtrak Exhibit Train visits the Claremont, New Hampshire train station on Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Originally created to celebrate Amtrak's 40th anniversary in 2011, the Amtrak Exhibit Train is on a nation-wide tour that allows visitors to take a complimentary, self-guided tour to learn about Amtrak history, operations and future.

Led by a diesel-electric locomotive arrayed in an historic Amtrak paint scheme, the Exhibit Train includes three display cars (former baggage cars) that have been renovated and transformed into exhibit space. Information on major events and achievements covering more than four decades of company history are shown. At the end of the train, in a reconfigured Amfleet Café car, visitors may browse the gift shop.

NH Operation Lifesaver (http://oli.org/) will be partnering with Vermont's Operation Lifesaver to distribute rail safety educational materials to attendees.

The Claremont Station is located at Plans Road and Maple Avenue in Claremont, New Hampshire.
