Rapid Bridge Replacement on US3/NH 11 Bypass in Gilford
Project Expected to Take 60 Hours from June 3 to 6

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces plans for a rapid bridge replacement project on the US Route 3/NH Route 11 Bypass over NH Route 11A in Gilford.

This estimated 60-hour bridge deck replacement is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 6:00 pm. The rehabilitated bridge is expected to be reopened to traffic by Monday June 6, at 7:00 am. During this time period, traffic on the US 3/NH 11 Bypass will be detoured off and around the bridge project and back onto the highway. Route 11A will be closed under the bridge, with traffic detoured around the bridge via a temporary roundabout.

Electronic message boards will be used to alert drivers to the bridge closures. Motorists are encouraged to avoid driving in this area if possible during this time period.

This project makes improvements to a "Red List" that was built in 1965. An estimated 14,000 vehicles cross the bridge daily.

Beck and Bellucci, Inc. of Franklin, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $1.57 million project, which has a final completion date of August 5, 2016.
