Spaulding Turnpike Paving Resuming in Newington
Day and Night Work with Lane Closures Between Exits 4 and 1

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces final paving work is set to resume on Friday, May 6 on the Spaulding Turnpike from Exit 4 to Exit 1 in Newington. This combination of daytime and nighttime paving operations will include the northbound and southbound lanes. Lane and ramp closures will be necessary in order to complete the work, which is expected to take two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Electronic message boards and signs will alert motorists to the lane and ramp closures. Motorists should anticipate delays and use alternate routes if possible.

This project has realigned and widened the Spaulding Turnpike northbound and southbound lanes, as well as the exits, between Exit 1 in Newington and the Little Bay Bridge in Dover to align with the future two bridge crossing of Little Bay.

Continental Paving, of Londonderry, New Hampshire is the contractor for the paving portion of this project. The general contractor is Alvin J. Coleman & Son, of Conway, New Hampshire.
