Work to Begin on US Route 1 Project in Seabrook
Reconstruction and Intersection Realignment

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces work is expected to begin soon on improvements to a section of US Route 1 in Seabrook.

This project will widen approximately 1,000 feet of US Route 1 (Lafayette Road) to provide an additional southbound through lane beginning approximately 500 feet south of the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Pine Street and proceeding north approximately 1,200 feet. Initial work will involve utility relocations.

In addition, Autumn Way will be realigned to intersect Pine Street to provide access to the existing signal at the Pine Street/US Route 1 intersection. The existing Autumn Way intersection with US Route 1 will be eliminated and the existing pavement will be removed.

Daily shoulder closures and lane closures during off-peak hours will be utilized to complete this work. Some night work will also be required.

American Excavating of Derry, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $1.1 million project, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2017.
