Stewartstown, NH – Canaan, VT Public Officials/Public Informational Meeting


The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a combined Public Officials/Public Information meeting has been scheduled to discuss pedestrian needs during a project scheduled to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Bridge Street over the Connecticut River between Stewartstown, New Hampshire and Canaan, Vermont. Bridge Street will be closed from the spring 2016 until the end of the 2017 construction season between the intersections with Route 253 on the Vermont approach, and Church Street and River Street on the New Hampshire approach. The detour for the project will utilize VT Route 114/Main Street over the Connecticut River.

This public meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 16, 2015 at 4:00 pm during the regular Selectmen's meeting, in the Community Room at the Stewartstown Town Hall, 888 Washington Street (US Route 3), in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire.

The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project. The meeting is also to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.
