Emergency Repair Project on NH Route 135 in Lancaster
Two Month Road Closure to Begin on September 17

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces an emergency repair project on NH Route 135 in Lancaster will require a full road closure just north of the Lancaster-Dalton town line for approximately two months. The closure of this section of NH 135 will begin on Thursday, September 17. The anticipated completion date of the project is November 13, 2015.

This repair project is in response to a slope failure along NH Route 135 next to the Connecticut River. It will involve road reconstruction, installing a retaining wall along the Connecticut River, replacing twin drainage pipes with a concrete box culvert, and the placement of stone along both sides of the road.

Single lane traffic controlled by temporary signals has been in effect for several weeks. A signed detour utilizing US Route 3 will be in place for the duration of the NH 135 closure.

Alvin J. Coleman & Son, Inc. of Conway, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $845,000 project.
