Night Bridge Repairs Planned for Sarah Long Bridge
Traffic Closure for Four Hours on July 22

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces nighttime bridge repairs are planned for the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in Portsmouth, NH – Kittery, ME.

Work on channel light repairs will require the bridge's full closure to motor vehicle traffic on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 12:15 am until 4:00 am. Navigational traffic on the Piscataqua River will not be affected by the work.

Traffic barrels and cones will be use to close off the bridge during the repair time period, along with bridge gates. Police details will also be in place on both the north and south ends of the lift bridge. Message boards will be used to give advance notice of the bridge closure.

A NHDOT Bridge Maintenance crew will be doing the repair work. In the event of inclement weather, work will be postponed until the same hours on July 23rd.
