State Farm® Extends Sponsorship of Motorist Safety Patrol to I-93

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a new three-year agreement with State Farm to sponsor the I-93 Safety Patrol.

As part of the sponsorship, the I-93 Safety Patrol vehicles will receive an updated look to include the State Farm logo, as well as enhanced highly-reflective safety markings to make the vehicles more visible to motorists, especially at night. These trucks will now resemble sponsored Safety Patrol vehicles currently servicing New Hampshire's Turnpike System.

"This is great news for motorists who drive on I-93 in New Hampshire," said NDHOT Acting Commissioner Bill Cass. "This sponsorship with State Farm will ensure an additional level of safety for the traveling public for several years."

Safety Patrol drivers are NHDOT employees who patrol 19 miles of I-93 from the Massachusetts border in Salem to the southern merge with I-293 in Manchester. The goal of the Safety Patrol is to improve safety and reduce the potential for traffic tie-ups by clearing minor accidents, removing debris, and assisting motorists in need of minor repairs, and providing safety for emergency responders.

The I-93 Safety Patrol service is provided six and a half hours per day from Monday through Thursday, eight and a half hours on Friday, and six hours a day on Saturday and Sunday. The NHDOT's Bureau of Highway Maintenance's Safety Patrol vehicles have responded to more than 7,800 highway incidents since the program inception in 2008.

"The State Farm Safety Patrol program underscores our commitment to auto safety and embodies our good neighbor philosophy," said State Farm Marketing Director Ed Gold. "We are proud to sponsor this important program. It helps people recover from the unexpected, which is the heart of the State Farm mission."
