Spaulding Turnpike Exit 3 Ramp to Close the Week of July 6
Southbound Left Exit in Newington to Permanently Close

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces plans to permanently close the existing southbound off-ramp at Exit 3 to Woodbury Avenue on the Spaulding Turnpike in Newington during the week of July 6, 2015. The exact date of the ramp closure is yet to be determined.

Southbound traffic on the Spaulding Turnpike looking to access Woodbury Avenue will be detoured to the Exit 1 southbound off-ramp, and continue to Woodbury Avenue via Gosling Road. This detour will remain in effect until the new Woodbury Avenue Bridge is opened to traffic in early October.

It is expected that the new southbound Exit 3 off-ramp will be paved and opened in July. This ramp opening will allow traffic heading south to the Pease Development area to use Aboretum Drive as an alternative to Exit 1. The roundabout traffic to Woodbury Avenue will remain closed until the work on the east side of the Spaulding Turnpike at Exit 3 is ready in October.

In early July, southbound traffic will be shifted west to travel under the new Woodbury Avenue Bridge. Northbound traffic will also be shifted to the west from Exit 1 to Exit 3 in early July so the new northbound lanes can be completed.
