Final Paving Planned on Section of US 3/NH 28 in Hooksett
Completion of Road Widening Project

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces final paving work is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 on a section of US Route 3/NH 28 in Hooksett. Weather permitting, this paving will start from just north of intersection of Benton Road/US Route 3, and continue to just south of the intersection of Martins Ferry Road/US Route 3.

The paving will cause interruptions in the flow of traffic, and motorists should allow for increased travel times. Once the paving is completed, the final traffic markings will be applied.

During these paving operations, Martins Ferry, Benton Road, Clough Ave, and Whitehall will be closed for short periods of time to allow the work to be completed. Traffic will be maintained on US 3/NH 28 in an alternating, one-way configuration, while access to business entrances will be maintained at all times. Delays during these operations are anticipated. Motorists should be aware of construction signs and electronic message boards for up-to-date information.

Continental Paving Inc. of Londonderry, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $4 million project. The majority of the road widening work was completed late last fall, with only the final paving needed to complete the project.
