Additional "Safety Patrol" Vehicle Added on Everett Turnpike
Operating by Memorial Day Weekend from Nashua to Concord

Motorists stranded on the F.E. Everett Turnpike will soon find more frequent help and roadside assistance. The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) is adding a second Safety Patrol truck to operate on the Everett Turnpike as part of a public-private agreement with State Farm®.

The additional truck sponsored by State Farm will supplement the existing Safety Patrol truck that covers the entire 44-mile length of the Central Turnpike from the Massachusetts state line in Nashua to Concord. Beginning Friday, May 22, the second Safety Patrol vehicle will cover the Everett Turnpike from Bedford to the I-293/NH 101 interchange in Bedford, north to the I-293/I-93 interchange in Hooksett, and continue on I-93 to Exit 14 in Concord.

The goal of the Safety Patrol is to improve safety and reduce the potential for traffic tie-ups by clearing minor accidents, removing debris, and assisting motorists in need of minor repairs, such as fixing flat tires, charging a battery, or handling an overheated vehicle as soon as possible. In 2014, the Turnpikes' Safety Patrol vehicles responded to 2,178 incidents.

Safety Patrol responders communicate with the NHDOT's Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Concord, which has direct contact with State Police and other emergency responders.

The NHDOT Safety Patrol sponsored by State Farm operates year-round during early morning and late afternoon hours – Monday through Thursday 5:00 am to 8:00 am, and 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm; on Fridays from 5:00 am to 8:00 am and 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm; and on Sundays from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Extra coverage may be added for holidays and special events. The NHDOT's Turnpikes Safety Patrol also covers 16 miles of Interstate 95 and 22 miles of the Spaulding Turnpike from the Portsmouth Circle to Exit 16 in Rochester.
