Steel Work On US 4 Bridge Over Mascoma River in Lebanon
Periodic Traffic Delays on US 4 to Allow for Beam Setting

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces structural steel erection work on the US Route 4 Bridge over the Mascoma River in Lebanon will require periodic traffic delays over the next two weeks.

To ensure safety, traffic on US Route 4 will be stopped for approximately 10 to 15 minutes between 5:30 am and 6:00 am daily while the beams are being lifted into place. A similar delay will occur daily in the late morning time period.

Also, beginning on Monday, May 18, the section of NH Rail Trail under the bridge will be closed for about two weeks. A rail trail detour will be in place, with signs directing trail users around the construction work via Mill Road, US 4, Payne Road, and Ice House Road. The trail will not be closed during non-work hours and weekends.

This bridge replacement project includes road realignment on US Route 4 and NH Route 4A. R.S. Audley, Inc., of Bow, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $8.9 million project, which has a final completion date of summer 2016.
