Night Lane Closure on I-93 Northbound in Salem
Some NH Route 97/Pelham Road Traffic Detours

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces night work associated with the construction of the Exit 2 I-93 Bridge in Salem. Operations to place bridge girders will take place on the nights of Tuesday, March 3 through Thursday, March 5, 2015, weather permitting.

Construction operations will require traffic on I-93 northbound to be reduced to one lane utilizing a lane closure. This work will take place during non-commuter hours, from approximately 9:00 pm and 6:00 am. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

Detours will also be in place along NH Route 97/Pelham Road to prevent traffic from traveling under the existing bridges while the new beams are erected. The detour route for NH 97/Pelham Road will utilize South Policy Road to Lowell Road to Stiles Road. This detour will take place during the non-commuter hours of approximately 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. Message boards and detour signing will be in place to assist motorists through the detour.

This work is part of the $41 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 2. The general contractor is George R. Cairns & Sons, Inc. of Windham, New Hampshire.
