Repairs To US Route 4 Temporary Bridge In Lebanon
Alternating Traffic Necessary For At Least One Week

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces repair work is expected to begin Thursday, October 11 on the temporary bridge carrying US Route 4 over the Connecticut River between Lebanon, New Hampshire and Hartford, Vermont.

This warranty work involves making repairs to the friction coating on the steel deck panels of the temporary bridge,  It will require alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers for a least one week, weather permitting. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible, especially during afternoon hours.

The temporary US 4 bridge has been open since December of 2009. A new bridge, estimated at $9 million, is scheduled to be advertised in May of 2013.
