Blasting Work Beginning At Exit 5 Of I-93 In Londonderry
Some I-93 And NH 28 Traffic Delays With "Rolling Road Blocks"

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces blasting work associated with the construction of four new Interstate 93 Bridges at Exit 5 in Londonderry is underway this week.

Some of the blasting work will require traffic on I-93 northbound to be delayed by State Police "rolling roadblocks", and the temporary stopping of traffic flow on NH Route 28. Speeds will be reduced by using State Police cruisers to slow down traffic on I-93 at either approach to the blasting zone, and local police on Route 28. These periodic "rolling roadblocks" will take place at various times during the non-commuter hours between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm through July of 2011. Minor traffic delays can be expected.

This work is part of the construction of four new I-93 Exit 5 bridges, the reconstruction of a section of NH Route 28, and I-93 reconstruction in the Exit 5 area.

Severino Trucking. Co., Inc. of Candia, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $37 million project, which is scheduled for completion in June 2014.
