Newington-Dover Public Informational Meeting
Update on Proposed Widening of 3.5 Miles of Spaulding Turnpike

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a Public Informational Meeting will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010 in Newington to update the project design status and construction schedule for the widening of a 3.5-mile section of the Spaulding Turnpike (NH Route 16) from north of Exit 1 in Newington to the Dover Toll Plaza just north of Exit 6 (US Route 4) in Dover.

In addition, the NHDOT will provide an overview of the design and status of the first construction project that constructs the new Little Bay Bridge for the ultimate southbound Spaulding Turnpike lanes, and will present an alternative roundabout design for the Exit 3 southbound ramp intersection with Woodbury Avenue Extension and Arboretum Drive.

The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with the information regarding the proposed project, and to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, the NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.

The August 19 public meeting will be held at the Newington Town Office, 205 Nimble Hill Road, in Newington, New Hampshire, beginning at 6:30 PM.
