Night Traffic Shift On I-89 South Bound At Exit 20 In Lebanon
To Allow For Replacement Of The Bridge Over NH 12A

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a planned nighttime traffic shift for southbound traffic on Interstate 89 at Exit 20 in Lebanon on Thursday, July 8, 2010. This traffic shift onto a median temporary bridge will allow for he removal and replacement of the southbound bridge over NH Route 12A.

The temporary shift will maintain two lanes of traffic in both directions. The removal of the southbound bridge over NH 12a could begin as early as Friday.

The traffic shift will be done at night and will require the closure of the Exit 20 southbound off ramp after 8:00 PM. Motorists will be directed to go to Exit 19 and return. Notices will be on electronic message boards. Emergency vehicles will be able to access Exit 20 at all times.

This project includes the replacement of the I-89 bridges over NH Route 12A, the addition of two lanes (from 5 to 7) on NH 12A at the Exit 20 interchange, and the construction of a new bridge connecting the Upper Valley shopping plaza with the Kmart shopping plaza.

This project is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. R.S. Audley, Inc. of Bow, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $20.3 million project, which has a final completion date of October 2012.
