Traffic Shift on I-93 Northbound at Exit 2
Lane Closure for Transition to New Northbound Bridge

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces work associated with the construction of the new I-93 Exit 2 Interchange in Salem.

Weather permitting; work to restripe Interstate 93 northbound will take place on the morning of Saturday, November 8, 2014. This roadway painting work will take place during non-commuter hours, from approximately 4:00 am until 8:00 am. Upon completion of this work, traffic will be moved onto the new northbound bridge over Pelham Road. This traffic swap will enable the removal of the last "Red Listed" bridge along the Salem-Manchester corridor.

Construction operations will require traffic on Interstate 93 northbound to be reduced to one lane utilizing a lane closure. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

This work is part of the $41 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 2. The general contractor is George R. Cairns & Sons, Inc. of Windham, New Hampshire.
