I-93 Project Will Go To 3 Lanes Southbound By November 5
From Exit 3 In Windham To The State Line In Salem

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces plans to open Interstate 93 to three lanes southbound between Exit 3 in Windham and the state line in Salem.

Upon completion of striping operations at the Exit 2 interchange, the southbound portion of Interstate 93 will be opened to three lanes for the afternoon commute on Tuesday, November 4. The first full day for three lanes southbound will be Wednesday, November 5.

Weather permitting; the realignment of Interstate 93 southbound at Exit 2 will take place on Tuesday, November 4. This work will occur during non-commuter hours, from approximately 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Construction operations will require the periodic use of rolling roadblocks in order to reduce the speed of traffic while the line striping operations are ongoing. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

This work is part of the $41 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 2. The general contractor is George R. Cairns & Sons, Inc. of Windham, New Hampshire.
