Night Lane Closures on I-293 at Exit 4 in Manchester
Lane and Ramp Closures During the Week of 11/2/14

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces temporary night lane closures are planned on I-293 northbound and southbound in Manchester in the vicinity of Exit 4 for construction operations. The Exit 4 interchange ramps will also be subject to night closures.

Weather permitting, the I-293 lane closures are scheduled to take place from Sunday, November 2nd to Saturday, November 8th from 7:00 pm until 6:00 am each night. Interstate 293 northbound and southbound will have one open lane at all times. The Exit 4 interchange ramps will also be subject to closures, from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am, but only one ramp will be closed at a time.

These temporary night time lane and ramp closures are to allow for paving and striping operations. Motorcycles are advised to use caution due to grooved pavement existing temporarily during the week. This work is necessary to accommodate the lane shift that will take place in November. Electronic message boards and traffic control devices will be used to alert and assist motorists during the lane and ramp closures.

This work is part of the I-293 widening and bridge replacement project in the vicinity of Exit 4. The project includes the replacement of four "Red Listed" bridges and the rehabilitation of one "Red Listed" bridge at the I-293 Exit 4 Interchange.

The road work includes: construction of a third southbound lane, beginning approximately 150 feet north of the existing northbound on-ramp and continuing approximately 0.6 mile south; Exit 4 ramps reconstruction and pavement rehabilitation; sound wall construction; drainage improvements; water line reconstruction; installation of concrete median barrier; and guardrail improvements.

Severino Trucking Inc., of Candia, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $26.2 million project, which has a completion date of November 18, 2016.
