I-293 Exit 4 Southbound On-Ramp Closure in Manchester
Three Week Ramp Closure Begins September 2

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the I-293 Exit 4 southbound on-ramp in Manchester will be closed temporarily for construction operations.

The Exit 4 southbound on-ramp will be closed at 7:00 am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. This ramp will be closed until Monday, September 22, 2014. Motorists are advised to use Exit 5 as an alternate access to I-293 southbound. Electronic message boards and traffic control devices will be used to alert and assist motorists during the ramp closure.

This work is part of the I-293 widening and bridge replacement project in the vicinity of Exit 4. The project includes the replacement of four “Red Listed” bridges and the rehabilitation of one “Red Listed” bridge at the I-293 Exit 4 Interchange.

The road work includes: construction of a third southbound lane, beginning approximately 150 feet north of the existing northbound on-ramp and continuing approximately 0.6 mile south; Exit 4 ramps reconstruction and pavement rehabilitation; sound wall construction; drainage improvements; water line reconstruction; installation of concrete median barrier; and guardrail improvements.

Severino Trucking Inc., of Candia, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $26.2 million project, which has a completion date of November 18, 2016.
