Blasting on I-93 at Exit 3 in Windham
Rolling Roadblocks on Evening of August 13th

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces blasting operations are planned adjacent to the interim southbound lanes on Interstate 93 at Exit 3 in Windham.

Blasting will take place on Tuesday, August 12, beginning 6:00 pm and completed by about 9:00 pm. This blasting is required to accommodate the new alignment of the northbound off ramp. It is weather dependent. Wednesday, August 13 is the backup date if weather is an issue on Tuesday.

State Police rolling roadblocks will be used to slow I-93 southbound and northbound traffic during blasting operations, resulting in minor delays. Traffic on the southbound and northbound on ramps and NH 111 Route 111will be temporarily stopped during blasting. Extended I-93 southbound, NH 111, and Exit 3, southbound ramp closures may be required to allow crews to safely remove blasted ledge from the roadway, due to its close proximity to the work.

This work is part of the construction of the final northbound I-93 roadway alignment and northbound ramps in the vicinity of Exit 3. Weaver Bros. Construction of Concord, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $32.2 million project, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2016.
