The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a Public Informational Meeting has been scheduled to review the results of the structural evaluation of the existing General Sullivan Bridge and the NHDOT's recommended action to be taken for limiting access over portions of the old bridge until full rehabilitation evaluation can be completed and long-term action plan developed.

In addition, the Department will provide an update on the overall status of design and the construction for the widening of the 3.5 mile section of the Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16), beginning north of Exit 1 in Newington and running northerly to the Dover toll plaza, located just north of Exit 6 (US 4) in Dover.

The public meeting will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 7:00 pm, at the Dover City Auditorium, 288 Central Avenue, in Dover, New Hampshire.

The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project. The meeting is also to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.
