Plotting a Cell at a Station & Offset

This page explains the Place Active Cell option of the Station-Offset macro.

Before attempting to use any of these routines, be sure to read the Introduction page.

station offset dialog boxPlace Active Cell will prompt for a station and offset to plot the current active cell.

The cell needs to be selected before the macro starts and will be rotated to match the direction of the alignment at that station. Cells are selected by first opening a cell library. Select Cells from the Element menu. Select the File menu on the next panel that appears. Choose the cell library containing the cell you wish to use. Most existing detail cells are in exist-in.cel and row.cel contains right-of-way objects.

place cell dialog boxWhen the panel below appears, the current active cell and start station of the selected alignment will be displayed. Enter the station of the cell to be plotted (without the "+") and offset. Negative offsets are to the left and positive are on the right.

  • You cannot modify the current view while the dialog boxes are displayed.
  • The active cell cannot be changed while the macro is running.

Once all cells have been places, hit the Cancel button to return to the main selection box.
