Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP)
The ESAR-VHP (Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals) program is designed for the registration and coordination of health and non-medical personnel who have indicated their interest in volunteering to provide aid in an emergency. NH ESAR-VHP is managed by the Department of Health and Human Services, Emergency Services Unit.
The goal of the program is to eliminate a number of the significant problems encountered when seeking to use volunteer health and non-medical personnel in a complex emergency response. Registered volunteers are not required to respond to a request. Volunteers decide at the time of a request whether or not they can respond.
