Net Medicaid Enhancement Revenues

RSA 84-A

Medicaid Enhancement Tax revenues are due at the end of October explaining the lack of year to date revenues, and other reimbursements (contractual drug rebates, etc.) which are sporadic, but for the three months ended, both categories are on plan and similar to last year.

The State's Net Medicaid Enhancement revenues represent collections from New Hampshire’s hospitals.  It is collected in the form of a 5.5% tax charged of net patient service revenues of every hospital rendering services in the state.

The tax is assessed against net patient services revenue, which means gross charges of the hospital, less deduction for bad debt deductions, charity care and payment discounts.
