Medicare’s Open Enrollment Period (OEP) for comparing 2014 prescription drug plans started October 15 and will end December 7, 2013.
Since late September, many NH ServiceLink offices have been scheduling face-to-face counseling sessions with consumers in order to review 2014 Medicare Part D plan options based on consumers’ prescription needs.
During these final days of OEP, ServiceLink offices may have no openings for unscheduled appointments, and are explaining to consumers and their families that they should call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or visit Medicare.gov for Part D assistance. However, please note that individuals who have both Medicare and Medicaid (known as “Dual-Eligibles”) or “Extra Help” (also know as the Low Income Subsidy through the Social Security Administration have no end date for choosing another Part D plan. Therefore, these individuals can still contact their local ServiceLink office after December 7, and ask for assistance.
